I was born Louis Junior Shampang on April 23rd, 1986. My mom gave me the nickname JR shortly after my birth, and I've been going by that name ever since. Born in the Philippines, I moved to the U.S. a year later with my parents. My childhood and teenage years were spent on the Gulf Coast in the city of D'Iberville.

I attended school in the St. Martin district and graduated valedictorian at St. Martin High School in May of 2004. In September of that year, I began my freshman year of college at MSOE in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I'm majoring in software engineering.

In late August of 2005, the Gulf Coast was devastated by Hurricane Katrina. I spent a week with my parents at home with no power and a limited food supply. Our house suffered minor damage, but the Gulf Coast area proved to be a tragic disaster area with many casualties and victims. While residents of the Gulf Coast are doing all they can to return to normalcy, they need help. I would greatly appreciate it if generous readers considered donating to a relief fund.
