Zanzibar University

Zanzibar University is a university in Zanzibar. It was opened in April 1998 after a 4-year period of financing and construction. The university presently consists of three schools - the Faculty of Business Administration, the Faculty of Law and Sharia, and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. At least three more schools are planned for the near future: a Faculty of Science, a Faculty of Engineering and a Faculty of Computing and Information Sciences.
The university received full accreditation from the Evaluation Committee of the Higher Education Accreditation Council of Tanzania, in 2000.
In cooperation with the Euro-African Management Research Centre (E-AMARC) based in Maastricht, The Netherlands, ZU has established a centrer for Small Business Development.
