'Zanger' means 'singer' in Dutch, Bob is his given name. He started performing at the age of five. He was discovered by singer John van Leeuwen at the age of seven. [edit] Producer
The records of Zanger Bob are produced by Manfred Jongenelis, who also recorded with Dutch artists like Pierre Kartner, Corry Konings, Sugar Lee Hooper, Bobby Prins, Grad Damen, Jan en Colinda, Leen Zijlmans, Wesley, Anthony, Antonio and Rob van Daal.
[edit] Weight and exposure
The Netherlands have a history in heavy folk singers like Andre Hazes and Sugar Lee Hooper. With his 64 kilogram, Bob is quite heavy for a child of 10 years old. He's about 17 kg overweight. The genuine attempt at stardom is something that some people find so amusing that they send YouTube clips to their peers, not unlike the "Star Wars Kid", or "Numa Numa". At the show Bob said he will join a celebrity reality show on SBS6 called De afvallers met Sterren ("VIPs on a diet"). Former ice skater Hein Vergeer will coach Bob on his effort to lose weight.
[edit] Trivia
- So far, on July 14th, the combined effort of his parents secured Bob a place on VH1's Web Junk 20 in the United States.
- Zanger Bob has multiple different artist names. While the singer is marketed through the Internet, still his biggest claim to fame, as Zanger Bob, the covers of his CDs identify him as just Bob. On his website however, the artist is fingered as Bob Offenberg.
