[edit] WP in the Press - new source
Hi there, I saw that you are a major contributor to Wikipedia:Wikipedia in books so I thought I should tell you...
I would like to draw your attention to the fact that there is no link to Wikipedia:Wikipedia in books from the "as a topic" (Rather than "as a source") page Wikipedia:Wikipedia in the media. There is a link to webcomics, to the press, to radio...but not to books. Why is that? Can you add it (I don't want to be that bold in case there is a reason for this.
Also could you add the Thomas Friedman book The World is Flat to the "as a topic" section of Wikipedia:Wikipedia in books. In my 2006 edition he has a whole sub-chapter entitled "Wikipedia: Community-Uploaded Content" in the chapter entitled: "Flattener #4 - Uploading." He also says in this section that he has used WP as a source throughout the book.

Hi Villy... on Meta, you approved my request to be an administrator of the Inupiaq language Wikipedia. However, I don't seem to have admin priviliges yet. -- en:user:zanimum
- Sorry, there must be some mistake, I didn't approve aníthing. I am an ordinary user myself, so I don't think I could approve anything if I wanted to. hu:user:Villy
- Never mind, I do actually have access. Some else activated my sysopship. I thought had you were a bureaucrat. -- Zanimum 2006. június 1., 01:52 (CEST)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Sesame street bert and ernie nose.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Sesame street bert and ernie nose.JPG. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Movie eo lucas jackson coppola.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Movie eo lucas jackson coppola.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu Badali 02:33, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Meetup/Toronto
IMO, Instead of a huge conference sort of thingy, a gathering of 3 to 4 people chatting and get to know each other is a better a way to spark meetups. Balancing the schedule of 4 people is easily than that of all Category:Wikipedians in Toronto. Send me a email if you are interested. I sent this message to User:Zanimum, User:Unforgettableid, User:Tyciol because they were most active at Wikipedia talk:Meetup/Toronto. I.H.S.V. (talk) 05:41, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Francesca Dani image - not fair use
Hi there. Just thought I'd say, I've removed the image of the model Francesca Dani from the Bangs (hair) page, as it is certainly not fair use of a copyright image. It'd be fine on a page about the model herself, but not about the hairstyle she happens to be sporting. Also, I note from the edit history that this removal had been done before, by User:MattKingston, so I'm not entirely sure why I have to do it again. Do you have a reason by which we could use that image? Or just a dislike for the licensing laws? -- (James McNally) (talkpage) 02:05, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Tv 30 second to fame south africa.JPG
The image Tv 30 second to fame south africa.JPG, which you uploaded, does not have proper source information. If you found the image online, please edit the image description page to include links to both the original image itself and the page you found it on (and remove the "no source" tag). If you don't do this within a week, the image may be deleted according to Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion.
I also noted that the image was way too large for a fair use image (I've fixed that myself), does not appear to be TV screenshot even though it's tagged as one, and was used in the Contortionism article without an applicable fair use rationale (I've removed it). Please choose a more appropriate fair use tag for the image. —Ilmari Karonen (talk) 14:56, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nature "study"
You do realize the study in Nature that you tout was debunked as shoddy envangelism that wasn't even done by a scientist? Say what you want about the future of Wikipedia, but it's just delusion to hold up its science articles as equals to those of Britannica.
- Yes, I do realise that. But do you realise my user page touts the fact they mentioned Extreme Ironing in the press, not the actual study? -- Zanimum 13:50, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Redundant Image
- What was the point in uploading that Image again. Now you just made a redundant Image. There is no point in a "descriptive title", because users can click on the Image if the want a description, they don't need a "good" title. — The King of Kings 16:19 June 30 '06
-
- I deleted the old file. 98poster.jpg is not a good title, since there are thousands of posters made in the years 1998. Heck even 1898 they were making posters. Images should have file names that are unique and unmistakably their own. Wikipedia:Image_use_policy#Image_titles_and_file_names -- Zanimum 16:22, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

-
- You seem to have misinterpreted my comment. I wasn't suggesting you add it to Commons, and then place the image on every single language's project. I was suggesting you upload this or any future free image to Commons. Once on Commons, any contributor from any project can use it at any time in the future, without directly uploading it to their own project. It takes the same amount of your time as uploading to Wikipedia directly, but it saves time for other users on other projects. -- Zanimum 19:28, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Tv poster sex and the city.jpg)
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Tv poster sex and the city.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. meco 18:48, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sesame Street Live
Hi, Zanimum,
You recently made this edit. I wanted to point out that not all of our live shows are written by Luis Santeiro or directed by Nancy Sans. In fact, we have several different directors each year for the various shows, and they're usually not from Sesame Workshop. Thanks. :) kmccoy (talk) 23:29, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
- Oh wow, you work from VEE? Cool.
- It seems the article was suddenly marked FA, without me fixing the changes suggested in the latest nomination yet. Funny how FA works.
- I had originally ignored the 150 cities fact you presented, thinking you were just a random person finding it on a random site. Has the tour actually been slightly shrunken since my press kit was made? I've eliminated the sentence about Sans and Santiero. The press kit made it sound like that was who they had for every production.
- BTW, as a long-time sysops and Wikimedia communication committee member, I personally don't think that you editing stuff about SSL would be against WP:AUTO. It's simply to avoid people making . Suppose the National Enquirer released a story saying that a serial killer was playing Elmo, and the article referenced it, and you yanked it, to try and save your employer's face. Or if you went into the existing article, and started changing it to say "Sesame Street Live is the most fantastic stage presentation in the history of man-kind." That's basically the type of stuff AUTO protects us against. But pure factual errors like I made are totally free reign. How many shows SSL puts on the road is its equivalent to the "marital status, current employer, place of birth, and so on" mentioned in the "If Wikipedia already has an article about you" section.
- Would you happen to have any photos of SSL, either during a production, a rehearsal, or even some of the performers of stage? (but still in costume of course) If you, or anyone on the tour you know, would mind donating an image or two under a free license, we do need to start replacing publicity pics and screenshots as much as possible. -- Zanimum 13:10, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
-
- I have tons of pictures. I'm working 16 hour days putting together the upcoming tour -- when I'm actually out on the road I'll go through them and find some to upload. One concern that has stopped me from uploading them in the past is that I want to be very careful about copyright. I am normally careful about it anyway, and if I upload a photo on Wikipedia of SSL that isn't legal or appropriate, it could jeopardize my job. I'm not sure what the copyright issues surrounding a photo of the show or a photo of one of the characters are. I may post on some of the various image copyright pages for advice. Let me know if there're any SSL or VEE questions that you have. kmccoy (talk) 17:27, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
-
-
- I didn't presume you would put any inappropriate photos up, it's just I've seen so many photos from Sesame Place and other (non-VEE) touring shows like that, on various websites. Copyright-wise, as long as you acknowledge that VEE created the costumes, you're A-OK. The only restriction is that you can't upload to Wikimedia Commons technically, since it includes a copyrighten work within the image. Mind you, they haven't complained about the Oscar the Grouch puppet in the Smithsonian, or the Sesame Park (Canada's Sesame Street) puppet image, both of which are on Commons. Might be best to ask, still. Just to let you know, the article is set to be main paged sometime next month, so the sooner the better. -- Zanimum 15:17, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Moving school articles
Please stop moving school articles, such as what you did to Erindale Secondary School, Lincoln M. Alexander Secondary School, and Tomken Road Middle School. (Are there others you've moved???) Instead, please visit WP:EiC and come discuss your proposal at WT:EiC. Moves like this which change the structure of the articles are rarely a good thing to do without discussing it first. --Stephane Charette 17:20, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- The whole point behind Wikipedia:Requested moves is to prevent people from incorrectly copying-and-pasting the text of the articles, thereby losing the edit history of entire articles. You obviously knew that there was a WP:RM in progress, since you voted against it at Talk:Lincoln Alexander Family. Now I see that to make things worse, you've gone and copied the entire article text into the proposed (original) article location over at Lincoln M. Alexander Secondary School. I don't know if you did this on purpose, but it really doesn't help things! :( Your actions towards Canadian school articles lately has been disruptive to Wikipedia, and it has taken several members from WP:EiC quite some time to revert some of your changes. Again, I would like to ask you to please come discuss what you plan on doing over at WT:EiC -- this is a very active wikiproject, with many members. We'd love for you to help out as there is a seemingly infinite amount of work that remains to be done. For now, contrary to the edit comment you left here, I have reverted your change until the WP:RM has gone through. Hopefully they can move the article back to Lincoln M. Alexander Secondary School, thereby freeing up Lincoln Alexander Family for you to do as you wish. --Stephane Charette 15:36, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Not sure if you have seen this, I noticed you quickly corrected the 'Canada' issue today. [1] GameKeeper 16:45, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, I saw it sadly. I hadn't bothered to really look at the template, I didn't think that the template would bother to include that detail. I hope that all of Wikiproject Education takes this template. The current one used with US high schools is so dull and incomplete, that's why I made the mistake of using the Canadian one. Anyway, it's the register, doesn't really matter too much, unless it gets in the mainstream somehow. -- Zanimum 16:52, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- I am of the opinion all publicity is good, even if it is spun negatively, as in increases awareness of wikipedia. The template is a nice one, it still needs a bit of work to 'de-canadianise' it a bit more. It definitely improved this article would be good to see it elsewhere. Keep up the good work. - Well, yes and no. Too much of a bad thing is bad. At least the suit is only between the two other parties, not us and them. Anyway, yes, if the template is to be a permanent replacement, I do see the Canadiana that needs replacing too. -- Zanimum 17:15, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

- Yeah, frankly, a little nerve wracking. But I suppose its related to my own "greenness" with regards to appearing on TV. I think, if I could magically go back in time and redo it, I could be more articulate and thoughtful. Oh well, if it ever comes up again, I'll be prepared :) (It didn't help that I got back from vacation the day before, my mind wiped blissfully blank by copious amounts of lobster) joshbuddy, talk 20:43, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
-
- I presume it was your first interview for Wikipedia? Did you catch the small bit of the segment that aired? Do you know if they're sending you a tape? I was thinking of talking to whoever the show producer is, asking if they could donate a copy of the segment to Wikimedia for the Foundation's private records. -- Zanimum 14:14, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Logo for Slovene Wikisource
Hello! Could you, please, make a version of your Wikisource logo with Slovene text "Wikivir" instead of "Wikisource", so that we could use it on our Wikivir? --romanm (talk) 04:21, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, of course. I'll try to get this to you by Friday. -- Zanimum 18:56, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Lets get together!
I think we should all sit down and drink and eat and what not. I propose a meetup at Future Bakery, on the corner of Brunswick and Bloor, on Wed. August 16, 2006 @ 7pm. Lets discuss it. joshbuddy, talk 15:07, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry. Sadly I can't attend nighttime Wikimeets, as I'm in Brampton, which doesn't have GO service past the afternoon, thus getting home would take at least three hours on two transit systems. However, if I could get the one press outlet to attend, would anyone attending object to that, on the condition they aren't intrusive or abrasive (aka they don't ruin the night)? I'd like to try to get City/Global/CFTO interested in doing a little piece on Wikipedia, with this as the example. -- Zanimum 18:55, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Unspecified source for Image:8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter john ritter.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter john ritter.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 16:09, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re-uploaded deleted image
Greetings Zanimum, not sure if you were aware of it but the Image:IMG 3006 crop.jpg you previously deleted has been re-uploaded. I've made efforst to re-tag the image as {{nsd}} and {{db-repost}} to no avail as the uploader keeps reverting me. The source is being cited as "Clare K." ... which obvious isn't a source. Perhaps there's something you might be able to do to either get the image properly sourced or deleted (again)? Thanks. (→Netscott) 07:49, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Harvey for Board of Trustees
See User_talk:MakeChooChooGoNow#Respect.
I realise I'm being nasty, but I want Wikipedians to know what kind of person Harvey is. He has been abusive to myself and friends of mine, and has placed at least one other bogus order besides the one he placed with me [2] purely for kicks, tying up inventory and thumbing his nose at us. Even if he was qualified, he would not be the sort of person I would support for such an important position. RoscoHead 03:08, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] holdon!
Okay, you can delete the PDF but please give me five minutes....
I am at UCSF library and they don't allow webmail logins so this is the only way I can get the file on my server.
I have it now so please do delete; thanks. LossIsNotMore 20:24, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikisource controversy?
So, what is the Wikisource controversy you were involved in? Glancing over the contrib list for wikisource:User:Zanimum doesn't help much. ;-) The meta:User:Zanimum gives no dice, either... Were you just making it up, or was it on a mailing list, or what? Inquiring minds want to know... Thanks for all your work, in any case. JesseW, the juggling janitor 09:28, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, he he. Um, I designed the new logo for Wikisource more than a year ago now, uploaded it to the project, asked whether anyone wished to replace the ugly photo with a vectorized version of the image. That sparked a whole 9-month or something competition to design a new logo, which was completely fair enough from my perspective. But a couple of months ago, the German's got peaved at how blasted long it was taking the English Wikisource to vote on the process, so they did a quick strawpoll, for or against my logo solely, and put up my logo as their new logo. Because every language for each project has to have the same graphic identity, everybody else was forced along to use it, which of course peaved everybody who was against my logo. (In all honest, even if the vote did go through on en, the board doesn't have to follow the vote, and could have used any of the logo submissions.) -- Zanimum 14:24, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] What I meant
You can't issue a standard {{test4}} warning message if its the first warning. Should you want to give someone a "last warning" that is also their first (if its profoundly serious enough), use {{test4im}}. Thanks --Dane Coulson 15:56, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Gisele Bündchen
Hi, Zanimum for the good work checking sources for the Gisele article. And thanks for updating the info on Image:Taxi2004.jpg. But still about this screenshot, I'd like to hear your opinion... do you belive the Gisele Bündchen article needs this unfree image? The image doesn't seem to add much information about the movie... it's just an image of Gisele, and we have lots of free images available for Gisele. Don't you think we can get rid of it? What's the role of this image in the article? Thanks, --Abu Badali 15:39, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
- I don't know. It is a different aspect of her life that isn't portrayed in any of our free images. I'd personally keep it for now, but keep a strong hand on any other images uploaded, since we do indeed have a surprising wealth of Creative Commons images available to us. -- Zanimum 15:44, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
-
- I see. But what bothers me is this use of unfree images when we have lots of good quality free ones. The "movie career" is undoubtedly something that deserves mentionning, due to its peculiarity, but I don't see how what that image adds any new information. It's just "Gisele". And we already have so many "free Giseles". Would you have any objection if I remove the image? --Abu Badali 15:53, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
-
-
- I don't have any objection to you removing the image, and I'll personally deleted it as a fair use orphan if you do. However, it does show she's "not just a pretty face", but can emote, something not really seen elsewise. Perhaps ask for another opinion on the village pump. -- Zanimum 15:57, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
-
-
-
-
- If you don't really object that, I prefer to be bold and remove the image. This article is so a perfect example of how good we can get only with free content... sadly enough, I have seen too many people here o Wikipedia showing disbelief on that... I'll do that. --Abu Badali 16:21, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Joan
[edit] Joan Ganz Cooney
How does this bio look, so far? I've not got into the main bulk of Joan's career, and I've only been working from one interview with her (albeit about four hours long), but it's a pretty good start, I hope. I'd like advice on what to do with references, as it is indeed so mono-sourced. -- Zanimum 18:45, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Yannismarou
I do not think I can help you much about the references. But I'm sure that in Internet you'll find material and other links to books, interviews etc. Reading the article, it is clear to me that more sources are necessary. This will also improve the prose and the coherence of the article. Some minor remarks, mainly on style:
- You end the article in 1968. You say you've not got into the main bulk of Joan's career, so I expect more information to be added and some wording about her whereabouts nowadays. What is she doing? How did she end her career? What is going on with her business? Is she an active businesswoman?
- I do not like the Trivia sections in general. But this is maybe a personal peculiarity. I just think that trivia should be incorporated within the other sections. As it is now this section seems to me like full of scattered information.
- Many users do not like one-sentence paragraphs. If you ever go for GA or FAC you should take care of that. I am one of those who believe that it is nice for the style as well for the better interconnection of the material to merge one-sentence paragraphs.
- Can't you find at least a photo? Rich photo material with good captions is highly recommended. You'll see that there are also some nice infoboxes for bios and famous persons. You could use one of this and add a photo.
- You have to expand the lead section (WP:LEAD), especially if you enlarge the article.
- As it is now, the "Childhood" section seems gigantic to me. Keep a good balance between the sections. If you add, of course, more sections and the article becomes bigger, then this section might be ok as it is now.
- I donot like too many red links within an article (for instance One of these things). You can create yourself some of these articles as stubs.
That's for a start. I hope that I was helpful and that we'll soon have a more consummated image of the article with the information you want to add.--Yannismarou 11:11, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Gisele Bündchen
Excuse me, I was wondering if you were the one who keeps reverting the trivia on the Gisele Bündchen page. If you are can we please talk on the Gisele Bündchen talk page? Thank you. loulou 17:23, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
- No, I'm not. All I've done was incorporate the information into the article, what ultimately should be done to most of the trivia. You can, of course, look in the edit history, see who has been removing the content you speak of. But of course all information should be properly referenced, or else it is fair game for removal. -- Zanimum 17:26, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, my problem was that it was the other way around! Someone keeps putting trivia that is longer than the page itself, and I keep editing and deleting it. loulou 17:29, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Loto-quebec.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Loto-quebec.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. [edit] Wikimania 2007
I don't think there is much reason to put in a bid for 2007. I doubt they will select two North American cities in a row, and I personally feel that next year's should return to Europe or perhaps go somewhere in East Asia. I do think Canada should try, and would have a good chance at, winning the 2008 conference. - SimonP 19:59, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

- That'll do fine, thanks. I don't think there's any point to doing the ref style when an article's a stub, anyway. Hurrah! That makes two down in the last 24 hours. Now only 1,300,000 or so to go... Captainktainer * Talk 19:35, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for noticing Sesame Street source
I hated seeing that {{facts}} template without a citation for the featured article. The pdf came up on the second page of a google search. Just a footnote on the bottom mentions it, but I figured it's enough. To be honest I didn't actually read the pdf at all, just that small section. :) -Hyad 21:05, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Talk:Boston Tea Party
Howdy, I noticed that you and I seem to post in one or two articles dealing with progressive issues in political science/sociology. There's currently a debate beginning in Boston Tea Party as to whether the article should include the category [3]. It meets definitions set in the articles Terrorism and Definition of terrorism, however, there are several self-proclaimed patriots who watch BTP who refuse to recognise the fact. The simple criteria for terrorism generally seem to be intimidation or destruction of property in order to change public policy or public opinion while a state of war has not yet been declared. Some users would rather use recent acts of terrorism as a yardstick, rather than using a firm definition, and hence lose their ability to discuss matters calmly. Would you be able to pop in to the Talk page and join in the discussion? Thanks much, samwaltz 05:45, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Shoppers World, Brampton
I excised a chunk of text from this article you created that I suspect is vandalism. - I dont know how regularly I went, but no, I didnt live in Bramalea. Probably still went to BCC more often, since Shoppers World was pretty grungy back then. [edit] DYK
Zanimum, I really enjoyed reading this article. I guess I was part of the early part of the television-as-a-babysitter generation, but I never realized how much of a role model a character like Gordon could be. I tweaked the tagline a bit, hope you don't mind. Many thanks for the contribution -- Samir धर्म 06:54, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for tweaking tagline. I had to head somewhere a few minutes before I typed the DYK, and I didn't know what to write, so I just wrote randomness. I agree, it's amazing the thought that went into creating Gordon.
- I recently had my pet article, Sesame Street, featured on the main page. Someone linked to an essay on the early years of the show, regarding how the "Commission for Educational Television" in Mississippi was trying to blockade the series from air. That essay, that I had missed until then, provided an amazing look at the series, and how it connected with the civil rights movement. Thanks for selecting the article for DYK! -- Zanimum 13:54, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

I noticed that you rated the article Emily Osment as B-Class on the Assessment Scale. I think that it is over-rated. You also did not leave any comments, so I did not see any argument for this opinion. The article for her friend Miley Cyrus is much better. bibliomaniac15 21:07, 29 August 2006 (UTC)'
