Zambooie

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Zambooie is a record label started by Michael Lewis and Bruce Fitzhugh (of Living Sacrifice), two music industry vertans with experience in performing record label executive production, marketing, A&R and artist management. The two teamed up with Allen Frye to start the company without the help of outside investors, thus avoiding the risk of losing creative control.

They opened their first online store in December 2002, running the site out of Lewis’ townhouse. With the site up and the first store successfully selling merchandise, they approached the contacts they had made over the years and began to build their roster. After only three years, Zambooie is now home to over 70 artists including, American Hi-Fi, Ben Folds, Underoath, Emery, Hawthorne Heights, Jack's Mannequin, Shinedown and record labels Tooth & Nail Records, Solid State Records, The Militia Group and many others.

Zambooie has expanded into a multi-dimensional company featuring online stores, its own clothing and merchandise line, graphic design and screen printing.
