Zahirabad is a city and a municipality in Medak district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

Zahirabad is located at 17.68° N 77.62° E[1]. It has an average elevation of 622 metres (2040 feet).

It is located about 100 km from Hyderabad on the Mumbai-Hyderabad national highway (NH-9). It is surrounded by many villages where agriculture is the main occupation of the people. It is also surrounded by many industries which provide employment. Some of the major companies located around Zahirabad include Mahindra & Mahindra, Trident Sugars Ltd (formerly Nizam Sugars). One can find ATMs, cinema halls, lodges, and dhabas. Also there is a railway station. It is near Bidar, Karnataka, on a tributary of the Manjeera River. It has the famous Lord Hanuman temple. Due to the rise in the real estate business, the prices of land for agriculture land have risen. The nearby villages mainly cultivate sugar cane. It has good warehouse, godowns, and a market facility.

Zahirabad has an average literacy rate of 62%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 69%, and female literacy is 55%.
