Zafar Iqbal

A Pakistani man named Zafar Iqbal was held in extrajudicial detention in Guantanamo Bay.
Zafar Iqbal, an Urdu poet, based in Okara, Pakistan, is known for his innovative style of poetry, in the genre of ghazal. The diction of his ghazal is entirely different from traditional Urdu poetry, making him popular and unpopular at the same time. He is a lawyer by profession, and regularly contributes articles to an Urdu newspaper, Daily Jinnah.
