[edit] Summary
This is a detail of an image of composer-pianist Franciszek Zachara, which was published by the magazine "Florida Wildlife" in April, 1959 (volume 7, April 1954, p. 36). I scanned and cropped the image myself, and I do not believe it has ever been available online before.
After reading the Fair Use guidelines from Wikipedia, I believe this image qualifies for fair use under U.S. Copyright Law, as the nature of the use of the image is for non-profit, educational purposes only; use of the image has no effect on the potential market for the image; and the proportion of this image to the copyrighted work as a whole is quite small. Use of this image is encyclopedic, and necessary, as images of this once internationally-known pianist and composer are rare. This image is one of the few public images which represents this artist in mid-life, during the early 1950s, and contributes significantly to the encyclopedia entry about him. I believe this image meets Wikipedia’s content requirements.
