Záhorská Bystrica (German: Bisternitz, Hungarian: Pozsonybeszterce) is a city part in the north of Bratislava. It is a small city part, with preserved peasants' houses, and more recently, with a part of modern villas and estates.
The first preserved written mention to the settlement stems from 1208 under name Bisztric. Croat settlers had settled here since 1520. The settlement became a part of Bratislava on 1 January 1972. The borough is home to Slovakia's major TV station TV Markíza.
Proximity of the Little Carpathians offers opportunities of tourism and sport.
