Yushio class submarine

The Yushio was a Japanese diesel-electric submarine class operated by the JMSDF - they have now been retired or are only used for training. The design is an evolution from the Uzushio class being slightly larger.

- Torpedoes: 6 × 21 inch (533 mm) torpedo tubes. Carries a total of 20 of : Type 89 or Type 80 ASW torpedoes, or Sub-Harpoon missiles.
- Sonar: Hughes/Oki ZQQ 5 hull mounted sonar. ZQR 1 towed array fitted to most vessels.
- Radar: JRC ZPS 5/6 I-band search radar.
- Complement: 75 (10 officers).
