I will generally reply where our conversation started, unless you explicitly ask me to post elsewhere. Please be civil and don't resort to making personal attacks, no matter how frustrated you are with me; they will be removed.
I'll archive this talk page after a comment makes the size of the page over 120 kilobytes.
And finally, a philosophical view: Those who are calm and measured in their responses even under stress, calm those around them.
Due to the amazing incompetence of my ISP, I will be using dialup for an unknown duration after 20 February 2007. This will (very likely) affect the time it takes me to respond to queries. I (ahem) apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
[edit] Thanks!
Thank you for the SuggestBot! Some of those look outside of my areas of expertise - but research is half the fun. I'll do what I can.

Hello Mr Kiwi
If you cannot understand the randomly written words why are you lamenting your phrases on Jimbo Wales page instead of asking user ekkenekepen directly. It is easy to write some lines for the sake of provokation. Does your ego feel better by now ??? You have not been interested whats really going on you are only interested to write some words. To understand more about the structure of the wikipedia system and the highly ranked polticians who place and push their POV over indirect ways you just have to look behind the lines.
But glancing at the screen is by far more easy. [1]
Kind regards
--Ekkenekepen 08:36, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hello!
[edit] Welcome
[Note from Yuser31415: Copied and pasted from User:Yuser31415/Template:Talk page header]: Hello! Thanks for the kind welcome. I posted an intro about myself on the page you suggested.
It is my intention to be a responsible member of the WikiPedia community. I may or may not become an expert at slick formatting, but I will always double-check my facts.
All the best! Geoffmark 00:40, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Stuff I'd like to edit
Well, I'll take you up on that offer!
What I'd be happy to edit:
- whisky (or whiskey) including Scotch, Bourbon, Canadian, Japanese....
- computer graphics (after 1990 or so)
- film & TV directing, directors, writing or writers
- San Fernando Valley (Los Angeles)
- animation (cartoons)
Possibly other stuff. I have varied interests, but those are all things I know reasonably well.
Thanks! Geoffmark 17:47, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Dewey Graves
Hello,
Thank you for your stub submission. You may wish to note that it is preferable to use a stub template from Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Stub types instead of using simply {{stub}}, if you can.
Thanks! --Vox Causa 05:29, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Headline in {{nn-warn}}
(rm header; it is not required and doesn't work when starting a new comment)
That's not true, of course you can use it while starting new comment. Why not ? Without headline it is useless. ≈Tulkolahten≈≈talk≈ 14:42, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] CSD templates
Please see Wikipedia talk:Criteria for speedy deletion#CSD templates - we need to decide if they have headings or not - to consistent. Lethaniol 14:48, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Helpful
Thank you for trying to be helpful but next time, sift through the block log on the usernames too. Most of those were blocked a minute or less after they were created. Reporting already blocked usernames is a waste of everyone's time, no matter where its done. "I haven't checked if _all_ of these have been blocked yet." - You really should. pschemp | talk 16:27, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Modularity in networks
I removed the copyvio tag from this. The site that you cite as the source is itself a wiki, and I saw no assertion that the material was copyrighted on that site. Typically doesn't a wiki function under GFDL?
In any case, if the article is to be kept it needs to get categorized and have that missing image removed from the text. Syrthiss 20:58, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

- Wikinet has no formal copyright statement that I can find, however this situation should be easily resolveable, because the page creators are identical. User:Wuyilin on en wiki, and User:Wuyilin on the wikinet page. In other words, the author has given GFDL consent by submitting the page here, for at least that material which is his own work. Now, beyond Wuyilin's contributions, there is one additional editor on Wikinet page, named User:Ayan Paul. If we can secure a release of license by contacting Ayan Paul, then it should meet the copyright requirements.

-
- We accept "copyvio" articles where the contributor agrees to change their license on the original content to a compatible one. Off the top of my head, I can only think of the MyWikiBiz mess as an example, which isn't the best one, but in that case the copyvio problem was solved by MyWikiBiz changing his license to GFDL, resolving the issue. User:Wuyilin has already demonstrated through action that he intends for this content to be released under the GFDL, all that needs to be done now is asking for him (and possibly one other guy) to officially confirm this GFDL status. If we make this request, we almost certainly gain an article (not a lame one either, it even has in-line references already) and a potentially valuable contributor out of it. Where's the downside? --tjstrf talk 21:41, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

- Addendum: I suggest reading Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for information on the policies here. I suggest we mail Wuyilin, Ayan Paul, and whoever runs the NetWiki asking for license clarifications in accordance with that policy. NetWiki appears to be pretty new, part of someone's class, and it probably never occurred to the editors that they should specify a license. --tjstrf talk 21:50, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- OK then. I'll continue trying to figure out this request process... it's a bit of a pain. Right now I'm looking for the e-mail of their wiki operator/professor, since it seems to be a class project type wiki. Ideally we can just get them to license all their article content under GFDL or a compatible license. --tjstrf talk 22:09, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Editor review
I asked you a question on it. You might want to be careful about asking your friends on Wikipedia to review you though, especially since you're pretty confident about getting a good review out of it. --Deskana talk 11:23, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] My recent RfA
Thank you for considering my RfA. It was a very humbling yet surprisingly gratifying experience. I am grateful for all the constructive comments that will undoubtedly make me a better contributer, and hopefully a stronger candidate in the future. Grika 14:57, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
