Yumeji Kurokouchi (黒河内夢路?) is a fictional character in the Samurai Shodown series of video games.

[edit] History

Yumeji is the daughter of Sakon Kurokouchi, a Sensei of iaido and the previous mentor of Ukyo Tachibana. However, for some unknown reason, she was expelled from her father's dojo and living facility. She has since been adopted into the following of Gaoh Kyougoku Hinowanokami and has pledged her life to him, being his "right arm".

In the end, she finds Ukyo and after being defeated by him, Yumeji begged Ukyo to take her life for betraying her family after joinning Gaoh. Instead of that, Ukyo cut her ponytail and sent her to home, forgiving her life.[1]

[edit] Trivia

  • Her ending depicts her pursuing the life of an Amasan (Japanese nun).
  • She is loosely based on a real-life samurai named Ranmaru Mori, who faithfully served Nobunaga Oda, whom the character Gaoh is based on.
  • Yumeji is the first character in the series who can clones the techniques of her opponent, even his/her look for a seconds, much like Shang Tsung from Mortal Kombat series.
  • For her similar look, moves and gameplay, Yumeji is known as the "female Ukyo" by the fans of the game.
