[edit] Biography
Moving to New Zealand to live, from Russia in 2002, Yulia has made short work in beginning an astonishing career.
Yulia learned to speak English, passed all of her senior high school exams at Cashmere High School in Christchurch and signed a recording deal with Sony Music New Zealand all within two years.
Her first ever concert was in Christchurch with Ivan Rebrof where they received a standing ovation. Her version of Ave Maria brought people to their feet with emotional accolade.
Yulia blossomed under the tutelage of Cashmere High School's music department head Gary Thin, as well as music teacher Noeleen Penter.
Christchurch's local television station CTV's Good Living With Kerry Pierson programme had a weekly ten-minute segment devoted to local talent and interesting people. Producer, Pam Morris, was suddenly faced with a gap when another talent from Cashmere high School couldn't make it. Noeleen Penter suggested that Yulia could take the spot, who, at that point was a complete unknown.
Gray Bartlett, Co-director and owner of the Auckland-based promotion company Pacific Entertainment Limited, said great beginnings don't get much faster than this and has wasted no time in signing her to a 6 year Worldwide sole agency deal.
