Does anyone know what he does for a living? As an amateur, he presumably has some job.--Silverback 22:28, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

He's a pro, playing professional ball in Cuba. -Colin Kimbrell 14:30, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
No, all athletes in Cuba are considered amateurs and have other jobs. Castro outlawed professional sports in 1961. Players are rewarded, though—they are given time off and compensation for playing. However, I don't know what Gourriel's job is. --BRMo 17:09, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
Huh, never knew that. That's why I love it here, learn something new every day. -Colin Kimbrell 17:53, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

One of the guys calling the Cuba-Dominican game mentioned he was an accountant.

[edit] Cuban players ...

... are "amateurs" in name only. They all have no-show jobs as "physical therapists" in keeping with Castro's sham "amateurism."

He has a girlfriend from another country
