- Maurice Byblow (Ind) eventually joined the NDP.
- Roger Kimmerly was elected in a by-election for the NDP in Whitehorse South Centre.
- NDP forms the Official Opposition. Tony Penikett becomes Leader of the NDP.
- Chris Pearson become the Gov't Leader after Hilda Watson failed to win her seat.
