Yukimenoko (ユキメノコ? Yukimenoko in original Japanese language versions) is one of the 493 fictional species of Pokémon creatures from the multi-billion-dollar[1] Pokémon media franchise – a collection of video games, anime, manga, books, trading cards and other media, created by Satoshi Tajiri. The purpose of Yukimenoko in the games, anime and manga, as with all other Pokémon, is to battle both wild Pokémon, untamed creatures encountered while the player passes through various environments, and tamed Pokémon owned by Pokémon trainers.[2]
Its Japanese name is a portmanteau of the Japanese terms for snow (雪 yuki?) and girl (女の子 me no ko?).

Biological characteristics
Yukimenoko appears to be based off of the Yuki-onna, a Japanese snow spirit. It bears a humanoid appearance (unlike Snorunt or Glalie). Its body is white with a red stripe around the waist and two red fins on her back (designed to resemble a kimono obi). Yukimenoko's arms are attached to its head as opposed to its torso, and each has a three-fingered hand and a blue fin on the wrist (representing the sleeves of a kimono). The head is round except for a bump on the back. Yukimenoko has a purple lower jaw, purple rings around its yellow eyes and another purple spot is in the middle of its face. Two small "horns" made of ice are on Yukimenoko's head. Yukimenoko doesn't have any feet, so it floats in the air like its counter-part, Glalie (Yuki-onna is described as having no feet).
In the video games
Yukimenoko is one of the Pokémon from the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl games who evolves from a Pokémon who was released in a previous generation. Yukimenoko evolves from female Snorunt when the Awakening Stone is used on them. Therefore, this Pokemon can only be female.
In addition to being one of the alternate-evolution of a previously known Pokémon, Yukimenoko is the first Pokémon to be classified as an Ice and Ghost type. Her Special Ability, Snow Hide, raises her evasiveness when Hail is in effect. Yukimenoko is also extremely fast, but her Attack and Special Attack stats are still average (like Glalie), and the stats for her HP and defenses are slightly lower.
