[edit] History

Yuki announced himself as a volunteer agent in the service of solving the problems facing the Federation Government.

Yuki, who's a master of mechanical fighting arts of New Japan, is a special agent who acknowledges his abilities are among on the top of his field.

The mission he's been entrusted with is this: the giant industrial conglomerate WAREZ plans to dominate NEOGEO world. Yuki plans to join the fighting competition "Battle Coliseum" held by WAREZ, ascertain the indentity of the ringleader which is shrouded in mistery, and put an end to their evil designs.

Ai has been selected to back him up in this mission. But this has sadded him with the feeling he must protect her from this dangerous mission... [1]

[edit] Tribute moves

Yuki, like his partner Ai, has based all his moves in old SNK Playmore's Neo-Geo games, like in direct references to various icons of this company. These are some of his moves and their connection with the SNK world:

  • Fire Suplex: German Suplex grab. This is a reference to Fire Suplex, the Japanese name for the wrestling game 3 Count Bout.
  • Mutation Combination: A special combination of button sequences, based in name on the game Mutation Nation.
  • Dogou Sou Ken: Button command move. Reference to Dogou Souken, Japanese name for the shooting game Victory Road, part of the Ikari Warriors series.
  • Submarine Screw: Anti-air attack. The name is referenced to Duke Edward's signature move from Burning Fight beat'em up.
  • Bakuretsu Ken: Dashing attack. The name is refenced to Joe Higashi move of the same name, a rapid punch performed in Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters series.
  • SENGOKU Denshou: Counter move. Reference to the Sengoku series.
  • Riding Hero: Special air dash. Reference to the 1990 motorcycle game of the same name.

[edit] Trivia

  • If Yuki is in fact a man, his name is used before in SNK with 2 famous female characters of this company:
  • Yuki (?) in Japan is preferred for female names (it means snow), but in this case, it could be for Yūki (勇気?), which in Japanese means courage, which suits Yuki quite a bit.
  • When you perform the Submarine Screw move with the Memory Card Slash charged, Yuki transforms into Duke from Burning Fight and performs the original SS move (see above, in Tribute Moves).
  • Yuki has a special D-assault with Ai, where they combine their powers and transform into Atomic Boy for a few seconds, and all his attacks are unguardables. Atomic Boy is a character from King of the Monsters series, like Cyber Woo, who appeared in the same game as a separate character.
  • When he peforms one of his 2 DM Beams (Chodokyu Mega Beam 100 and Chodokyu MAX 330 Mega Beam), a Neo-Geo screen appears onscreen for a seconds, depending of the beam. In Mega Beam 100 appears the 100 Mega Shock screen [2], but in MAX 330 appears the classic Neo Geo screen [3].
  • Yuki's look and attitude could be based in Tokusatsu superheroes, like Kamen Rider or Ultraman. Probably a SNK homage to this series. In addition, he looks like Power Rangers characters (without the helmet).
  • Kyo Kusanagi's normal color G attire in The King of Fighters Maximum Impact 2 makes him look exactly like Yuki, right down to the Neo Geo strapped to his back. The Kyo's normal color H attire also looks like Yuki, but with blue instead red, this is Yuki's 2P color in NGBC.
  • In NGBC, Yuki got the word HERO! scrapped in his back.
  • Recently Yuki appears as a special SNK character card in SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters DS.
