Yui, Shizuoka

Yui (由比町; -chou) is a town located in Ihara District, Shizuoka, Japan.

As of 2003, the town has an estimated population of 9,831 and a density of 426.88 persons per km². The total area is 23.03 km².

Yui town is well-known as "Yui sakuraebi".

Yui town's flag. Inside of the orange blossom (which is a special product of Yui) is drawn a "由" for Yui town and 12 stamens to show the 12 wards in Yui town. Around the flower, the sea gull shapes show peace and equality.

Yui's symbols are the bush warbler, fragrant olive, and cherry blossoms.

The town has two elementary schools and one junior high school.

In Yui town, there is a museum called "Hiroshige museum" in which are exhibited some woodblock prints drawn by Hiroshige Utagawa.
