Yu Dabao (于大宝) is a Chinese International Football player born in China on April 18, 1988 that currently plays for China U-18 and SL Benfica in Portugal.
He currently plays as a striker, being regarded as the next big thing in China. He is also considered to be one of the best strikers in the Far East alongside Chinese counterpart Dong Fangzhuo of Manchester United.[citation needed]
Prior to joining SL Benfica many clubs were interested in the young talent including Ajax, Newcastle United and Rangers.[citation needed] In his debut match, only 5 days and 3 training sessions after he arrived in Portugal, Yu Dabao scored 3 goals and assisted a fourth in a junior squad Benfica match against Portimonense.
He is known for his fast ability to counterattack. Another of his abilities is his aerial prowess which gained Benfica's interest to begin with.[citation needed]
