[edit] YT-1300

The YT-1300 Corellian Transport, like the other YT ships, is manufactured by Corellian Engineering Corporation (located in the Corellia system), which is one of the largest and oldest starship manufacturers. The company primarily produces civilian vessels, although it occasionally builds specialized warships for markets not given attention by Kuat Drive Yards and similar corporations. Its ships (civilian or otherwise) range in size from a few meters to several kilometers, depending on the application. Nonetheless, CEC is best known for its moderately-armed, easily-modified freighters.

YT-1300 was one of the most versatile freighters, from the Corellian Engineering Corporation, on the market. By the time of A New Hope, the 1300 was an aging model, losing out to the newer YT-2400s. The upgradability of the freighter was the only thing that kept them around. The durable freighters had far too much un-used space to truly be classified as a "Light Stock Freighter." The high-grade powerplant, capable of supporting heavy quad lasers, helped to make YT-1300s one of the most modifiable ships of all time. The Corellian Engineering Corporation knew from the start that they'd make more money selling 1300s to smugglers than they would to traders. The 27 metre long ships sported only one light laser cannon upon purchase, but many of the freighters were upgraded with powerful laser turrets, concussion missiles, and sensor jamming that rivals that of capital ships. The CEC still manufactures, and makes a small fortune off of, upgrade kits for 1300s, despite the fact that they were originally produced 30 years before the Battle of Yavin. The YT-1300 was preceded by a similar model with a larger disc and a projecting crane housing above the main hull, the YT-1210.

The best known example of this ship type is the heavily modified Millennium Falcon piloted by Han Solo and Chewbacca after Solo won it from Lando Calrissian in a high-stakes game of sabacc. In the movie Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (originally titled Star Wars) the ship was chartered by Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker to deliver R2-D2 and the stolen Death Star plans to Alderaan. The Falcon was subsequently featured prominently in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, as well as in many of the comic books, novels, and other works of the Expanded Universe. The ship can also briefly be seen in Revenge of the Sith right along the beginning of the movie when Obi-Wan and Anakin are about to land at the senate with the chancellor. The ship can be seen for less than 5 seconds on the bottom of the screen and is hard to spot unless the viewer looks carefully. One is rumored to be seen when Senator Organa was leaving Coruscant at the parking lot scene.

The YT-2000 is a type of starship in the Star Wars Expanded Universe.

Created for the game X-Wing Alliance, the inspiration for the model seems to have come from the YT-1300 and the YT-2400 (which share similar fuselage and cockpit designs), both also manufactured by CEC. The YT-1930 is the only other ship in the YT series with a symmetrical design.

The Otana is a YT-2000-model transport owned by the Azzameen family in the computer game X-Wing Alliance.

The YT-2400 was designed to be a replacement for the aging YT-1300. Rather than design a ship based off of the same frame as the YT-1300, CEC designed a whole new and more compact frame that used as many of the same parts as the YT-1300 as possible. This was so as to take advantage of the still thriving aftermarket sales of YT-1300 parts and upgrades. The YT-2400 is a fast courier; its thrust-mass ratio is just barely legal right off the showroom floor, and its oversized power core makes upgrades simple and easy, as in showroom configuration it can generate far more power at maximum output than its systems can use.

The YT-2400, unlike the YT-1300, came equipped as standard with shielding. The ship also had many hardpoints for aftermarket weaponry, and sold lightly armed straight off the assembly line. The YT-2400 also came with 2 escape pods, one accessed straight from the cockpit and a second one in the main saucer. Despite its more compact size, the YT-2400 has a larger cargo hold than the older YT-1300.

The best-known example of a YT-2400 was Dash Rendar's Outrider which featured prominently in the Shadows of the Empire multimedia project.
