Biography
Early Days
Long before Young Buck appeared on 50 Cents's debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin' (album)|Get Rich or Die Tryin' and joined what was an upcoming record company G-Unit Records, he started rapping at the age of just 12, and it was only at the age of 14 when he started recording in the studio. However, although he was in a recording studio, he was also out on the street selling drugs in his neighborhood. The older drug dealers then gave him the name of "Young Buck" due to the fact that although he was dealing drugs at an early age he was also making some cash. Brian "Baby" Williams caught Young Buck at the age of 16 having a rap battle and took on the Young rapper. It wasn't long before Buck left high school and was in a crowded apartment in New Orleans along with the rest of the Cash Money crew.
Moving Up
Four years went by with Buck behind the scenes helping his crew 'securing' cars for Juvenile's video "Ha" and other work. After this time, Buck headed back home where it wasn't long before were he was in a tight situation. One man came through where Buck was dealing drugs and shot the rapper two times. Buck recalled, "Motherfucker come kick in my door, 4, 5 in the morning. I was laying in the middle of the floor. He came standing on top of me with AK or a Mac something. I ain’t had no gun so I got my ass off the floor and ran towards the kitchen. It just so happen one of my homeboys, he was awake, he pushed the guy back up out the door. I got shot twice. One of them damned near blew my arm off and another caught me in my upper leg, in my thigh. I had so much illegal shit in the house at the time I rode around for 45 minutes to an hour before I even went to the hospital. I damned near lost my life from bleeding so much."[1] Young Buck can be quoted to saying this on many freestyles and his website by saying "Everybody wanna know who 50 done signed/ And who he is, what he ‘bout, where he from, can he rhyme/ Is he real, is he fake, is he true, is he lyin’/Did this Young Buck really get shot two times?".[2]. Buck had also been working hard in the studio by releasing an independent LP with his childhood friend D-Tay called Thugin Till The End.
Big Break
Brian "Baby" Williams had by this time called Buck and invited him back into what was a new group. This would not last long, because after a week, Buck left because he felt like he was wasting valuable time.[citation needed] Juvenile (rapper)|Juvenile offered Buck a helping hand by taking Buck on a tour with UTP. Here, Buck met 50 Cent and his G Unit that consisted of Tony Yayo and [[Lloyd Banks]] at the time. 50 gave Buck a feature on his successful debut Get Rich Or Die Tryin on the track "Bloodhound". After this was G-Unit's debut Beg For Mercy album, which went on to sell 4 million copies worldwide. Buck then released his debut album Straight Outta Cashville. Buck recalls "I got the name from N.W.A.’s Straight Outta Compton,” says Buck. “Straight Outta Cashville speaks for itself. It tells you my way of living up on to this day. I want the world to get a feel of me, showing them the way I am and the way I get down". Buck also featured on [[Lloyd Banks]] debut and Tony Yayo's debut The Hunger For More and Thoughts Of A Predicate Felon respectively. Since then, Buck also appered on G-Unit radio mixtapes and fellow G Unit artists albums.[3] Straight Outta Cashville has gone Platinum and he is set to release his sophomore album titled Buck the World.
To help promote Buck the World, a track has been released called "Hold On", which features fellow G-Unit member 50 Cent. The video can be found on video streaming websites such as YouTube[4] and Young Buck's MySpace. 50 also hit back at Cam'rons diss track "Curtis" in this video. Thought in the video its not in the original lyrics of the song in Buck the World.
Ca$hville Records
Young Buck recently started his own label, Ca$hville Records. In late 2006/early 2007, West Coast and independent veteran C-Bo signed to the label. Also, in March 2007 it was announced that the Outlawz signed to the label as well. The Outlawz experienced success while their friend and mentor, Tupac Shakur, was still alive and still maintain a loyal fanbase today.
Controversy
Lil Wayne
Young Buck also has "beef" with New Orleans Cash Money Records rapper Lil Wayne. Young Buck was a former member of Cash Money Records along with B.G., Juvenile, Mannie Fresh and Turk. Young Buck has a song featuring Tony Yayo called "Off Parole". It is a "diss" track to rapper Lil' Wayne. Lil' Wayne has responded by saying that Young Buck is main with Aky P only so he can try to promote his new album and refuses to send a "diss" back.[citation needed] Young Buck said that Lil' Wayne couldn't be mad, because he (Young Buck) spoke the truth.[citation needed] It has been decided that Young Buck might work with B.G. to "diss" Lil' Wayne. He has recently dropped hints on taking New Orleans rappers, B.G., and Juvenile's side in the Cash Money Records vs. Juvenile/B.G., feud by saying, "you think you got a problem with Juve and B.G.; you'll have a true problem with me".[5]watch the video
Trivia
- Young Buck assaulted DJ Will from Hot 107.9, a radio station in Atlanta for playing rival rapper The Game's single "It's Okay (One Blood)" while Buck was at the venue. Buck is now banned from being played on the station.[6]

- Young Buck recently got into a "beef" with a Young aspiring rapper from Louisville, DJ Googleplex (Scott Perry). After a surprise appearance in Cincinatti, DJ Googleplex offended Young Buck by scratching his record with The Game's single that had earlier caused some controversy with Atlanta's 107.9 D.J. Will.[citation needed]
- Young Buck, like many southern rap artists, maintains friendships with other rappers from the South including Ludacris, T.I., Young Jeezy, Lil' Flip, Three 6 Mafia, Eightball & MJG, Stat Quo, Lil Scrappy and Lil' Jon among others. He mentioned T.I. and Young Jeezy as his "brothers".[citation needed]
- Although Young Buck and Juvenile (rapper)|Juvenile have had disagreements and some personal problems in the past, the two remain friends.[citation needed] Juvenile even made a cameo in the video for Buck's first single, "Let Me In."
- Young Buck and R&B singer Monica were in a relationship, but have since separated.
