You're the Best
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"You're the Best" is a classic eighties song by Joe Esposito (not to be confused with former Elvis guitarist, Diamond Joe Esposito), which came to prominence as the music to the All-Valley Karate Championships montage in the movie The Karate Kid (1984).
The track has been used since in innumerable homages to eighties movies, including:
- South Park, Episode 905, "The Losing Edge";
- Futurama, Episode 54, "30% Iron Chef";
- It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Episode 205, "$100 Baby";
- Homestar Runner, The Strong Bad Email "montage"[1];
- Gareth Nolan's short film, Strays.
It also appeared in Season 1, Episode 4 of Rob & Big. It is also used as entrance music by professional wrestler "The Future" Frankie Kazarian.
The song remains Esposito's most widely known contribution to the world of music.
