Yosuke Kubozuka

Yosuke Kubozuka (窪塚洋介 Kubozuka Yōsuke?, birth date: 7 May 1979) is a very popular male Japanese actor born in Yokosuka, Kanagawa.
Yosuke Kubozuka has been a model for many magazines and TV commercials before starting out his acting career where he debuted in a TV crime drama and grew in popularity amongst the young female viewers for TV series such as GTO (1998), Ikebukuro West Gate Park (2000), and particularly Strawberry on the Shortcake (2001).
In the year 2002, he took home the 'Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role' and 'Rookie of the Year' award in Japan Academy Prize for his brilliant performance as the leading role in Go.
His other films include the cult table-tennis film Ping Pong, Kyouki no sakura and Laundry.
On June 6, 2004, he survived a fall of approximately 26 meters from the balcony of his ninth-floor condominium in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, sustaining only minor injuries.

- Yosuke's father, Takayasu Kubozuka, is the Head of Dept for one of Nissan Motor's reasearch team whereas Yosuke's younger brother, Shunsuke Kubozuke, is also an actor.
- Graduated from Kanagawa prefecture's Yokosuka Senior High School (横須賀高等学校).
- In 1995, debut in the TV Drama "Kindaichi Shounen Jikenbo"
- In 1998, he starred in GTO (Fuji-TV) as the role of an honors student, 菊池善人, and received much popularity.
- In 2000, he starred in Ikebukuro West Gate Park aka IWGP (TBS)as the eccentric character nicknamed "King" otherwise named as Andoh Takashi and in turn receiving much attention.
- In 2001, he starred in Strawberry on the Shortcake (TBS) along with other popular young artistes such as Hideaki Takizawa, Kyoko Fukada. In the drama he took the role of being Kyoko Fukada's first love. Because of the successful performance in the drama, Yosuke left an impression that portrayed him as a desirable and prospective male for women to fall in love with and since then, his popularity has been on the rise.
- 2001, GO was officially released for evaluation and this production describes the love story of a young Korean boy living in Japan, known as (在日朝鮮人) during those times. The film protrays the day to day challenges faced by foreigners living in Japan. For his performance in this role, Yosuke took home two awards during the Japan Oscar Awards.
- Since then, Yosuke took on projects starring in "PING PONG"『ピンポン』、kyouki no sakura『凶気の桜』as well as Resurrection『魔界転生』.
