Yosemite Creek

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yosemite Creek, located in northern area of Yosemite National Park along Tioga Road (HWY 120), is a first-come first-served campground outside of Yosemite Valley. This campground is remote, quiet, and less populated relative to other campgrounds in Yosemite. The campground is 4 miles off the main road and thus requires a very rough downhill unpaved drive to the campground. Yosemite Creek is quite naturally directly along Yosemite Creek and therefore many of the sites inside the campground are directly alongside a running creek which can be used for dipping and fishing. Those looking to stay away from crowds/noise would consider this campground. The sites are green and somewhat shaded by the trees in the area. Unfortunately, it is not near any facilities or stores and its proximity to the Yosemite Valley is quite far (40 Min). Yosemite Creek is bascially a central location between the far east of Yosemite National Park (Tuolumne Meadows) and the most popular Yosemite Valley.
