Yosef Ben-Jochannan

Yosef A.A. Ben-Jochannan (born December 31, 1918, Gondar, Ethiopia) is an African-American historian known for his Afrocentric views.

Ben-Jochannan was born to a Puerto Rican mother and an Ethiopian father. He was educated in Puerto Rico, Cuba, and Spain, earning degrees in engineering and anthropology. From 1976-87, he was an adjunct professor at Cornell University.

Ben-Jochannan, also known as Dr. Ben, is an author of numerous books, primarily on ancient Nile Valley civilizations and their impact to Western cultures. Dr. Ben lives in New York City.
