York Regional Council

York Region Council is the regional political body created in 1974. The body is elected by residents of municipalities including:
- Markham, Ontario
- Vaughan, Ontario
- Richmond Hill, Ontario
- Newmarket, Ontario
- Aurora, Ontario
- Stouffville, Ontario.
- Georgina, Ontario
- East Gwillimbury, Ontario
The 20 member council meets at York Region's offices in Newmarket, Ontario. The chair of the council is elected by the members of the regional council after each elections.
