Yonkers Trot

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Yonkers Trot is a harness race for three-year old trotting standardbreds held at Yonkers Raceway in New York. It is the third leg of the Triple Crown of Harness Racing for Trotters. Originally named the Yonkers Futurity, the mile and 1/16 race was shortened to one mile in 1963.

Due to renovations at Yonkers Raceway, the Yonkers Trot was moved to different tracks in 2004 and 2005. The race returned to Yonkers on November 25, 2006, with Glidemaster winning the race and clinching the Triple Crown.
