Yondi Schmidt

Yondi Schmidt (born 26 April 1987) is a Dutch road and track cyclist.
Schmidt started his career aged nine with cycling team DRC de Mol in Dordrecht. In the age categories 9 to 14 year olds he managed to win 101 victories in road cycling. In addition he won six races between 15 and 16 years, while as a junior he won five races. In track cycling between 2000 and 2003 he became Dutch champion a total of five times in his age category. He won the three days of Amsterdam and became second in the three days of Ghent, where he accomplished to win the green jersey. In Belgium he won a total of 13 omnium races.
In 2004 Schmidt became Dutch junior champion at the 1 km time trial and the sprint, while he won silver at the keirin and bronze at the madison. In total he would win 17 races during that season, including the Dutch junior titles on the 1 km time trial and the sprint, while he won a silver medal at the keirin. In 2006 he finished second behind Tim Veldt elite Dutch championships 1 km time trial.
