[edit] Yohannes IV airport

Haile Selaisse named the Asmara airport after Yohannes IV without Eritrean consent. After independence the name was turned back to Asmara airport. Therefore I've edited the article.82.156.100.120 15:59, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

The airport was named Yohannes IV Airport by the government of Eritrea under Dejazmatch Tedla Bairru, the first Chief Executive of Eritrea during the Federation, in honor of the last Ethiopian Monarch who had reigned over the region before it was colonized by Italy. The act was approved by Emperor Haile Selassie, who was an admirer of Yohannes IV, but it was a locally initiated action.
