From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yogeeta Bali (Hindi: योगिता बलि, Urdu: یوگِتا بلِ) was a Hindi film actress in the late 1960s and through the 1970s. She was around at the same time as a lot of huge stars so did not become a major star herself, among her contemporaries were Waheeda Rehman, Rakhee, Sharmila Tagore, Hema Malini, Rekha, Jaya Bachchan, and Zeenat Aman.

She became singer actor Kishore Kumar's third wife. He directed her and acted with her in "Sabhash Daddy" (1979). But she soon divorced him to marry actor Mithun Chakravorty, thus also starting the singing career of Bappi Lahiri ! As initially Kishore Kumar refused to sing for Mithun and hence Bappi the music director of many of Mithun's early films sang for Mithun himself. After marriage to Mithun, she retired from films permanently to start a family. She has four children with Mithun.

She was also a niece to the star of the black and white era Geeta Bali, who was Shammi Kapoor's first wife.
