[edit] A small point worth correcting

"YMSTICPC" isn't an acronym because the initials from which the term derives do not form a pronouncable word (unlike, for example, NATO or UNICEF, which are). I have resisted editing the page, however, because I don't know what to call such "bunches of initials". Please could someone edit? 195.188.183.124 13:19, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

  • Strictly speaking, it is an initialism. "Acronym", however, has come, through misuse, to mean "initialism". Most people would see "YMSTICPC" as an acronym, even though that was not the original meaning of the word. Ground Zero | t 21:06, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Article mistitled?

This line is misquoted. I have just finished watching House of Cards, and the line that Urquhart says repeatedly is not "You might say that" but "You might think that; I couldn't possibly comment." As an American with no intimate knowledge of British politics, I'm not in a position to dispute that "YMSTICPC" is in common British political use, but to quote the TV show accurately it should instead be "YMTTICPC." Should this article be retitled or left as is? Can someone on the British side of the pond shed light on this? --Dodiad 09:10 19 Nov 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Citations?

This article would be much stronger if it included examples (from news reports, etc.) of the phrase actually having been used. Greyfedora 05:24, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

On second thought, I can't find any results in Google for YMSTICPC that don't link to this article or a mirror of this article. Should this article even exist? Greyfedora 05:31, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
