Yingshan

Yingshan (英山) is one of the seven counties governed by Huanggang City, Hubei Province, which locates in the east of the province and south of the beautiful undulating hills of Dabie Shan (Dabie Mountains).

The county covers 1,449 square kilometers, with 11 townships. As of the 2004 census, the county has a total population of 409,601.

Yingshan is famous for the birthplace of Bi Sheng, the inventor of movable-type printing technology in 11th century, which was regarded as one of ancient China's "four great inventions". Yingshan, as one of the activity base of communist in early stage, used to be the natal place of the 27th Corps of the Red Army, and 25th Corps's departure place for Long March to Yan'an.

The county is rich in natural resources e.g. tea, silk, herbs, chestnut, and granite. Yingshan is the leading producer of Green Tea in Hubei Province and the fourth largest tea provider in China. There are also four springs in downtown, with the water temperature up to 71 Celsius degrees, which show remarkable effect on healthcare.
