Yigo, Guam
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Yigo (pronounced dzi-go) is the northern most village of the American Island of Guam and is the site of Andersen Air Force Base. At 35 square miles, the municipality of Yigo is larger than any other on the island. Yigo’s population based on the 2000 census was 19,474.
Yigo is historically one of Guam's richest farming areas. During World War II, the village was the site of a concentration camp during Japanese occupation of the island.
