Yeola

Yeola, a town and a taluka headquarters of India, is located to the east of Nashik in Niphad Sub-Division, Nashik District, Maharashtra.

Yeola is 29 kilometres south of Manmad on the Manmad–Ahmednagar road. Yeola is 35 kilometers from Shirdi and is 260 kilometres northeast of Mumbai. It has a station on the BelapurManmad rail route, and Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is the nearest airport.

Formerly, Yeola was under the control of the Emperor of Delhi and later it was handed over to the Maharajas of Satara and then to the Peshwa. Finally, it was given as a gift to Vithal, the ancestor of the chief of Vinchur. Yeola is the birthplace of the revolutionary leader Tatya Tope.

Yeola is a major handloom weaving center and the Shalu and Paithani silk saris woven here find a prominent place in the markets of West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh as well as internationally. It is also famous for gold and silver wire. Places of tourist interest include Muralidhar Temple, Jumma Mosque, and Parshvanath Temple.
