Yellur

Yellur is village in Udupi district of Karnataka state in India. Situated at the foot of a small hillock locally called Yellurgad, the place is a pittoresque village with multiple temples, including a temple dedicated to Eshwara (Shiva). The jatra in honour of the goddess is held during Chaitra when about 10,000 people participate.
This beautiful place is now in fear of being displaced by coal based electric power generating station, being established at Nandikur along with other villages like Kemundel and Padubidri.
