Yellowhead
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Yellowhead was the nickname of Pierre Bostonais (d. 1827) a furtrader and explorer. The Yellowhead Pass in the Rocky Mountains on the border between British Columbia and Alberta is named after him. Indirectly, because of the pass, several other geographical features of Western Canada are named after him:
- Yellowhead County, Alberta
- Yellowhead Highway
- Yellowhead (electoral district)
- West Yellowhead (electoral district)
- TĂȘte Jaune Cache, British Columbia (TĂȘte Jaune is French for "Yellow Head")
Yellowhead is also a brand of beer brewed by the Alley Kat Brewing Company of Edmonton, Alberta.
