From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Yelena Yemchuk is a professional photographer, painter and film director, most notable for her work with The Smashing Pumpkins. Born in Kiev, Ukraine, her family moved to Brooklyn, New York when Yelena was in her early teens.
She was at one time involved with Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan but that relationship seems to have since dissolved, although Corgan has been noted to mention her often in his blog. She also provided artistic direction on his book Blinking with Fists.
Corgan has once said he wrote the song "Annie Dog" for Yelena from their Adore album.
Examples of Yemchuk's work can be seen on the releases for "Zero", "Thirty-Three", and "Ava Adore".
