Yelahanka is a town and a city municipal council in Bangalore district in the Indian state of Karnataka.

Yelahanka is located at 13.11° N 77.6° E[1]. It has an average elevation of 887 metres (2910 feet).

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Yelahanka had a population of 93,263. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. Yelahanka has an average literacy rate of 75%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 80%, and female literacy is 68%. In Yelahanka, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Yelahanka is situated on the northern periphery of the city of Bangalore, India. It is primarily a residential area, but also houses the Rail Wheel Factory ( formerly Wheel & Axle Plant ), Astra Zeneca Pharmaceuticals, Gogo International and the Escorts Mahle Goetze. Also houses few educational instititutions, like the Infant Jesus College of Nursing and NMIT. There is also an Air Force Station here, which caters to many activities of the IAF. An Air Show is held every 2 years here as well, which is attended by thousands of people from all over the city, and outside as well.
