Yekepa

Location of Yekepa in Liberia

Yekepa is a town in northern Liberia, lying near the Guinean border. It was the base for Lamco's iron ore mining operation until is was destroyed in the Liberian Civil War. Nearby Guesthouse Hill is one of the highest points in the nation.

Images from Yekepa, as it was and is now, are available [1]. Recently [2] , there has been some mention of a revival of mining activities in the Nimba range.
