Yehudit Ravitz (born 1956) is one of the best selling Israeli rock musicians[citation needed]. She sings mainly in Hebrew. She was born in Be'er Sheva, in southern Israel. By the end of 2005, she had recorded twelve albums and had been performing for nearly 20 years, and had also produced several albums for other musicians.
Her music is influenced by a variety of styles including Spanish-Latin music. Her interest in Latin music may have originated because one side of her family is Sephardic in origin, and Ladino speakers.
Over the years she has performed alongside various Israeli musicians including Gidi Gov, Yoni Rechter, Matti Caspi and Sarit Hadad. When she served in the entertainment department of the Israel Defense Force's Battle Engineering Corps, along with the would-be musician Korin Alal, the renowned singer Arik Einstein discovered their talents and asked them to sing on his upcoming album.
