Yazid Sufaat

Yazid Sufaat (a.k.a. Yazud bin Sufaat or Yazid Shufaat, born 20 January 1964) was arrested by Malaysian authorities 9 December 2001 and is currently being held under their Internal Security Act.

Sufaat was born in Johor, Malaysia and holds Malaysian Passport Number A10472263. He is a former Malaysian army captain and businessman. Sufaat holds a degree in biochemistry from the California State University, Sacramento in the United States. Sufaat is believed to be one of al-Qaeda's main anthrax researchers. [1]

Sufaat is suspected of providing employment documents to Zacarias Moussaoui. He is also suspected of providing lodging for two of the September 11 hijackers, Khalid al-Midhar and Nawaf al-Hazmi.
