Yasutomo Nagai

Yasutomo Nagai is a deceased motor cycle racer from Japan, born 29 October 1965 in Koshigaya. He died two days after crashing at Assen, Holland in a World Superbike race in 1995, riding a Yamaha [1]. He was one of the first racers bringing the "big eyes" logo in the international racing circuits.

He took two pole positions in the series, becoming the first Japanese to take a WSBK pole outside Japan in Austria earlier in 1995, and four podiums. Despite not starting the final 2 rounds of the season he was 5th overall in the 1995 standings. Yamaha retired its World Superbike team for the two final rounds of the season.

Prior to this he had raced in Japan's Superbike championship for many years, spending 7 years with Yamaha.
