Yasufumi Tanahashi (b. February 11, 1963) is the Minister of State for Science and Technology Policy, the Minister of State for Food Safety and the Minister of State for Information Technology in Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi's Cabinet.
Graduated from University of Tokyo with B.A. in private law, Tanahashi was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1996 after practising as a lawyer. Since 2004 he has been on the present posts.
