Yash Raj Films

Yash Raj Films (YRF) is a company setup by Yash Chopra, an Indian film director and producer.
He initially worked under his brother's production company. He set up his own company in the year 1970. This production company have churned out some of the biggest hits in the industry. In 2004 they had three consecutive hits and 2005 has been a pleasing year as they had two box office hits.
Yash Raj Films has also launched its own music label called Yash Raj Music and produces DVDs, Videos and VCDs under the Yash Raj Films Home Entertainment label. YRF Home Entertainment has acquired the rights for classics created by Raj Kapoor and his production company R.K. Films, as well as B.R. Chopra and his production company B.R. Films. In 2006, Yash Raj films unveiled its new state of the art film studio.
In 2004 the Hollywood Reporter placed Yash Raj Films on number 27 in a survey Biggest Film Distribution Houses in the world; it's arguably India's biggest production company as of 2006.[1]
Yash Chopra and Aditya Chopra topped the power list of India as stated by the February 2005 edition of the Filmfare Magazine. Their production house halted its momentum in the late 2005 with the flop release of Neal n' Nikki. Earlier, The Yash Raj juggernaut had swept up six hits on the trot, beginning with Saathiya (2002), going on to Hum Tum (2004), Dhoom (2004), Veer-Zaara (2004) and ending with Bunty Aur Babli and Salaam Namaste in 2005.
In 2006 they released two more blockbuster films,Fanaa and Dhoom 2, the sequel to the 2004 hit. Their third release, Kabul Express was a box office disappointment. In addition, Yash Raj Films has also distributed Krrish and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. Krrish went on to become a blockbuster Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna has also done very well.

Since 2001, Yash Raj Films has moved aggressively from being an independent producer to imitating the Hollywood style studio model. Whereas the Indian Film Industry is historically seen as disorganized and un-professional, this company is perhaps the first to create a "corporate" structure, emulating the entertainment business set-up in the United States. Sridevi was the best presented female in yash chopra's movie as yash chopra mentioned sridevi has gone beyond the number one actress ... a few can achieve what she achieved.
