Yanji (or Yeongil in Korean) is the capital city of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, within Jilin province of northeastern China. Its population is approximately 398,900. Because of the large number of Korean population, it is now a law that signs in Yanji be written in Chinese with a Korean translation.
