Yanic Truesdale (born 17 March 1970) is a Canadian actor with dual United States and Canadian citizenship. He is best known for his portrayal of Michel Gerard in the TV series Gilmore Girls, a role that prompted Daily Variety to name him one of "10 Actors to Watch". Michel Gerard is the concierge at the Independence Inn, and later the Dragonfly Inn.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, Truesdale studied at the National Theatre School of Canada before he began his television acting career in the long-running Canadian series He Shoots, He Scores. He was nominated for a Gemini Award for his role on the Canadian sitcom "Roommates." He also starred in a French series on the SRC channel which was called "Majeur et vacciné".
Truesdale moved to New York City and studied at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute, then moved to Los Angeles, California, where he currently resides. As a child, he went to a school that was almost 99% white, and he had struggles growing up. He first became interested in theater when he took a job as a busboy, and performed in their annual talent show.
