Yang Yang (badminton)

Yang Yang is former a Chinese badminton player.
He is the only badminton player in the world to have won two World Badminton Championships men's singles titles consecutively. He also won the gold medal in badmiton as a demostration sport at the 1988 Summer Olympics, in men's singles.

As a member of China's golden badminton generation of the 1980s, Yang Yang played an important role in making China a major world badminton superpower. Players of his generation set the foundation for the current Chinese world badminton players.[citation needed]
