Yang Wei (Simplified Chinese: 杨威, pinyin: Yáng Wēi) (born February 8, 1980 in Xiantao, Hubei province) is a male gymnast from China. He earned a silver medal in the 2000 Summer Olympics behind Alexei Nemov as well as a gold medal with his team. In 2003 he won the gold medal with his team and silver medal in the All Around Competition at the 2003 World Championship.

His next confrontation with Hamm came in the 2004 Olympics in Athens, but here he was not so successful. In what can only be described as a meltdown, his world championship winning team finished fifth after a spate of falls. In the all around, Yang was ahead after Paul Hamm's infamous fall on vault. After Hamm's failure, had Yang competed all his routines successfully, the gold would probably have been his and thePaul Hamm/ Yang Tae Young saga might never have come to light. However Yang fell from the high bar and one of the great controversies of the games came to pass.

However, Yang came back strong in 2006 at the 2006 World Championships by winning gold with his team and in the individual men's All-Around and parallel bars. He also won gold medal in the team event, individual men's All-Around,rings and parallel bars at the 2006 Asian Games.

Yang's girlfriend is Yun Yang, who won bronze in uneven bars in 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.
