Yamato District, Fukuoka

Yamato (山門郡; -gun) is a district located in Fukuoka, Japan.
As of 2003, the district has an estimated population of 64,913 and a density of 625.49 persons per km². The total area is 103.78 km².

On March 21, 2005 the towns of Yamato and Mitsuhashi merged with the old city of Yanagawa to form the new city of Yanagawa.
