Yala is a character from CrossGen Entertainment's Sigilverse. She appeared in The First, in Sigil and in Crux. She appears as a heroic female warrior, always armed and eager for battle. Yala is always happy, and nearly ecstatic about fighting.
[edit] Character Details
Yala was one of the seven key powers among The First, self-styled gods of their galaxy. Yala was intended to be the personification of joy but battle lust seems more accurate. She is a good friend of Pyrem but spends most of her time training the younger gods of House Dexter in fighting.
Yala is in love with Gannish, one of the other seven major gods. Yala and Gannish rarely meet because Gannish choose House Sinister instead of House Dexter. Yala seems content to fight or practice for battle and rarely seems interested in politics or complicated problems.
In episode #15 Yala goes with Pyrem to fight Seahn but escapes when Pyrem is captured. Later she comes back with Trenin to rescue Pyrem. They are successful in this effort.
In the Sigil series (episode #12), Yala decides Samandahl Rey is too powerful and the Saurians lack a champion of equal power. So she appears to the weaponmaster and Tchlusarud as their warrior goddess Khyalhtua. She offers great power to Tchlusarud but he declines her offer and so she gives the gift of some of her power to the Weaponmaster. With the new power in him the Weaponmaster takes a new name: Khyradon. Yala intervenes again and gives Khyradon even more power but Sam Ray is still able to defeat him "too easily". Yala then teleports Sam Rey to a different part of the galaxy.
In the Crux series (episode #20), Yala and Gannish appear in as two western cowboys. They seem to be part of a scheme to test the members of Crux but the situation is confused.
